We have some exciting news here at Greenwood Whippets! Summer was bred to
Ch. Broadstrider's Cordillera,
otherwise known as Lair, and they produced a litter on March 19-20. For news on the puppies, please check this page.
Lair is owned by Suzanne Rosenbeck (Woodsia Whippets) of Ohio and was bred by Doug and Ruth Broadfoot (Broadstrider Whippets) of Texas.
With his outstanding type and temperament and smooth flowing sidegait, Lair has sired some of the best Whippets in the country, including one we have long admired,
Ch. Woodsia Appraxin Whitetail. She was a Top 20 Whippet in the U.S. in 2006 and is one of the finest examples of the breed that we have ever seen.
We are extremely proud to have bred to her father.
If that weren't enough, Lair also sired
Ch. Appraxin Southern Belle at Hi Tor, who was Winner's Bitch at the 2007 National Whippet Specialty Show.
We have high hopes that the pairing of Summer and Lair will produce elegance; easy, free-flowing movement; beautiful fronts; and of course, stellar temperamants that make this breed such a joy to live with.
